Learning path

Our microcement training course begins with an introduction to the various materials in the Qubo® microcement product range. We will introduce you to the various components of our specially manufactured Qubo® coating systems and explain what you need to bear in mind when processing and laying the various materials.

The presentation covers the materials for all necessary work steps from the lowest leveling layer to sealing. The background knowledge imparted here is essential for providing customers with expert advice and planning coatings professionally.

The second section of the theoretical part describes and explains the construction systems for the various substrates.

Depending on the substrate, different preparation steps may be required to create an attractive and well-adhering microcement layer. Correct priming is discussed here accordingly.

In this section of the course, we will show you how to apply the individual layers of cement paste and teach you various texturing methods using the appropriate tools. The use of pigments to color the material is also explained and carried out.

The mixing and filling techniques are practiced intensively by the course participants during the course. The resulting sample panels are taken away by the participants at the end of the course and are used to present their own filling technique to customers.

The seminar concludes with an open question and answer session in which interesting topics from the training course can be discussed in greater depth.

On completion of the microcement seminar, each participant receives a certificate of attendance.

The training documents can also be read online after the seminar to deepen the specialist knowledge and installation techniques learned.

The material is available from stock for laying your first own surfaces.

By being included in our nationwide publisher list, capable publishers have the opportunity to receive orders from us in your area.

Was kostet ein Mikrozementboden?

The seamless floors with a concrete look are filled in several layers. The price depends on the size of the area to be laid and the number of layers of leveled flooring. As a rule, two layers are sufficient. Additional layers can be applied for design reasons. In proportion, a small room, such as a bathroom with many corners, costs more than large rooms. On average, the price is between €120 and €180 per m².

What is the installation height of microcement floors?

The cementitious filler is characterized by an exceptionally low construction height of just 2 – 3 mm. This simplifies modernization in rooms with particularly small gaps under the door, for example.

In which colors is microcement available?

The originally white filler can be tinted to almost any desired shade by adding color pigments.

What types of sealing are there?

A glossy, semi-gloss or matt finish can be applied as required. In addition, the required slip resistance classes can also be achieved with appropriate sealers.

How much does a wall coating with microcement cost?

Compared to floors, coating walls is more expensive. This is why the cost of a wall coating is approx. 10 % higher.

On which substrates can microcement be laid?

Almost any substrate can be coated. Here are some examples of usable substrates:

  • tiles
  • Parquet
  • Plasterboard
  • Screed
  • Natural stone
  • Marble
  • Ceramic
  • OSB boards
  • Metal
  • Drywall
  • Fiberglass wallpaper
  • many plasters
  • Dry, no longer working wooden panels

Our microcement training explains which preparation steps need to be carried out for the respective substrate materials.

How must the substrate be prepared for the installation of microcement floors?

With an installation thickness of only 2-3 mm, the substrate must be free of unevenness. If these are present, they must be removed or filled beforehand.

Depending on the substrate material, a suitable primer ensures the necessary adhesion.

When coating wood, make sure that the wood is well dried and no longer works. Freshly felled wood and walls affected by water damage do not meet these requirements.

Is a microcement floor waterproof?

Due to the density of the material and the additional sealing layer, our Qubo® microcement is waterproof.

For use in permanently wet areas such as pools, we also offer a self-sealing system, the Aqua series.

The similarities and differences between the two product ranges are presented in the microcement training course.

Is a microcement floor non-slip?

Yes, depending on the area of application, you can set the required slip resistance class with different sealers.

How is the microcement floor cleaned?

To ensure a long service life of the surface, we recommend using water and neutral soaps. Sealing the surface makes it easier to clean and protects it from stains.

Can microcement be laid on underfloor heating?

Yes, after the heating switch-on protocol has been carried out so that the cracks in the screed caused by the temperature change do not continue in the top floor. The exact procedure for coating newly created screeds with underfloor heating is part of the microcement training.

Where can microcement be used?

Microcement is a breathable coating that can be used indoors and outdoors, even in wet rooms. Ideal for bathrooms, wellness oases and fitness centers. Popular in kitchens and living areas, as well as conservatories and on stairs. Commercial areas such as restaurants, stores, doctors’ surgeries and laboratories are created with this special material. The cement floor meets all hygiene requirements and can be made slip-resistant by applying an appropriate sealant. The two systems from the Qubo® product family can be used to create durable, dirt-repellent, waterproof and abrasion-resistant surfaces.

Can microcement be used in wet areas?

Yes, the Qubo® Aqua series is self-sealing and therefore 100% waterproof. Our qualified companies ensure professional pre-treatment of the substrate and processing of the material. Installers gain the necessary specialist knowledge in our microcement training course.

Do existing tiles have to be removed before Qubo® Microcement is applied?

Solid tiles can be reworked without any problems. If they are loose in some places, they must be removed.

If only parts of the existing tiled surface are removed, the specialist fills the resulting depressions before the actual coating is filled.
