The stone carpet training course teaches essential laying techniques. This includes information on the correct mixing ratio of gravel and binder and the differences in laying indoors and outdoors. The material can be trowelled onto most substrates, provided the correct preparatory steps have been carried out in advance. These differ depending on whether the gravel floor is laid on wood, stone, concrete, screed or metal.

Different preparation steps are necessary depending on the substrate. These include cleaning the substrate and applying the appropriate primer.
In most cases, Qubo® EP 01 or Qubo® EP 02 is used as a binder for interior applications. The binder is mixed in the correct ratio, added to the marble or quartz gravel and mixed evenly.

On the exterior, the substrate is prepared first. This includes cleaning, removing loose components, sealing and priming.
The laying material consists of marble or quartz gravel and a polyurethane binder. You can choose between Qubo® PU 08 or Qubo® PU 10. The binder is added to the gravel in the specified ratio and mixed in evenly. The mixture is then smoothed on.

Stairs consist of horizontal and vertical surfaces. While the horizontal treads are laid indoors and outdoors like the respective stone carpet, a special binder is used to coat the vertical risers: Qubo® PU-WA08. This binder makes it possible to coat vertical surfaces ranging from skirting boards to entire walls.
