Our Qubo® Resin generally consists of at least two layers. The bottom layer is identical for all types of construction and contains a primer in the desired floor color, which serves to even out any unevenness. The actual design layer is applied to this now even base surface.
Pigmented resin is used for a colored coating. In addition to the desired color, the design layer can be enhanced using special pigments and effects. A coating with a glossy surface is already fully installed at this stage.
To give the surface a matt look or a silky matt finish, a suitable sealant can be applied at the end.
In the case of a 3D kitchen floor, the photo film is fixed after priming. A top layer of transparent resin is then cast.
Each of the applied layers can be walked on after a curing time of 24 hours. Depending on the nature of the substrate, additional preparation steps may be required to ensure that the fully walkable coating is completed within 3-4 days. The Qubo® epoxy resin is fully cured after 7 days and can then reach its maximum load-bearing capacity.
In principle, conventional screeds are suitable as a substrate for our Qubo® epoxy resin kitchen flooring. Existing tiles can also be reworked, provided they are prepared accordingly.
A coating with Qubo® epoxy resin is characterized by an extremely low construction height of only 2-3 mm.
Basically, there is a large selection of colors that we provide on customer request. The design options are further enhanced by the fact that particles for metallic and glitter effects can be sprinkled in and color pigments can be mixed with each other.
No, all our Qubo® Resin flooring systems are solvent-free.
A Qubo® epoxy resin floor is created in two to three steps, with a drying phase until the next day.
On the first day, the substrate is prepared and the primer coat is applied. The decorative layer is applied on the second day. The desired seal is applied on the third day.
The final step in the creation of an epoxy coating is the application of the sealer. This sealant can also be made non-slip. If you have special requirements regarding the slip resistance class, please contact us in advance.
The even, seamless surface and the resistant material prevent dirt from penetrating the floor. For this reason, dirt can be easily wiped off the surface. Liquids can also be easily absorbed. This applies to epoxy surfaces in living areas as well as utility areas in cellars and garages.
In general, mild household cleaners should be used to clean Qubo® Resin surfaces, while aggressive cleaning agents should be avoided. The latter should not only be handled with caution for health reasons, but can also cause lasting damage to the surface.
Once fully cured, the material is chemically set and completely waterproof. This means that the Qubo® Resin System is also suitable for use in wet areas.
