Quartz gravel and marble gravel for more individuality Stone carpet colors - Qubo®
Many people are familiar with classic marble gravel, which already has far more to offer in terms of color than simple stone grey. If this selection is not enough for you, you can opt for quartz gravel.
Marble gravel
Marble gravel is a natural material that comes from European quarries. The quarried marble chips must be prepared before they are used for the stone carpet installation.
For this purpose, they are artificially rounded in a complex process. This makes them easier to work with and easier to compact. The better the stones are compacted after laying, the better the statics and the more attractive the appearance.
In the next step, the marble pebbles are washed and then dried.

Colored quartz gravel
The variety of stone carpet colors makes Qubo® quartz gravel the first choice for creative designers. In addition to the uncolored natural quartz, a wide variety of gravel colors are available, from completely natural pebbles to shimmering metallic variants. The following gallery provides an overview of the wide range of Qubo® stone carpet colors, starting with the single-colored quartz gravel.
With these, the original color of the pebbles used still shines through, giving the finished floor a varied color structure.
Quartz gravel with metallic effect
Stone carpet colors with a metallic effect are much more eye-catching. Here, the quartz gravel is given an additional shiny metallic layer, which creates a very special visual impression.
Quartz gravel with pearlescent effect
If you like the look of simply colored gravel, but are also looking for that certain something for your gravel floor, you may want to opt for a pearlescent gravel color. These stone carpet colors combine a wide range of whites and grays to greens and oranges with a pearlescent sheen that looks great in gravel floors.

You can find many other gravel colors on the quartz gravel floor product page.
Choose your stone carpet colors with the help of the Qubo® sample case
To find the right stone carpet color for a construction project, a real gravel sample is always preferable to a photograph. While pictures can give a rough idea of a color, depending on lighting conditions and display devices, the hues may be vastly different from their real-life counterparts. In addition, photos do not convey the feel that a quartz floor offers. This is particularly important for prospective buyers who are not yet familiar with quartz gravel flooring.
There are two ways of choosing a color and getting to know the system. One is to visit an exhibition. In addition to a large selection of stone carpet colors, the areas of application of quartz gravel flooring are also presented here.
The other option is an on-site appointment with an expert installer. The advantage here is that the color selection can be made on site with the help of a sample case. Installers of Qubo® quartz gravel floors carry this case with them and can show customers a hundred different stone carpet colors directly on site. This allows colors to be matched directly on site.

First and foremost, the area of application determines the pricing. However, the costs depend on many other factors, including
- the type of binder required
-
from the primer
-
the choice of skirting boards, for example if these are also made of quartz gravel
-
from the labor costs of the professional installer
-
the size of the area to be laid
In outdoor areas, the costs are higher because the substrate is sealed and a special binder is used.
The individual stone carpet colors are divided into different price categories.
In most cases,
colored quartz
or
marble gravel
is used for the production of gravel floors from
. However, there are considerable differences in quality here, for example in the proportion of dust in the material or in the types of marble used.
Mica additives and various gemstones can be added, but this represents a further cost factor.
Colored quartz is available in the following grain sizes:
-
1–2 mm
-
2–3 mm
- 3–4 mm
Marble gravel is available in the following grain sizes:
-
1–4 mm
-
4–8 mm
- 8–15 mm
Of course, the choice of gravel grain size has an effect on the laying thickness of the gravel floor.
The laying thickness of the floor depends on the gravel grain size and the area of application. Normal quartz gravel with a grain size of 2 – 3 mm can be laid indoors with a thickness of 6 mm.
An installation thickness of 8 mm is used outdoors and on stairs indoors due to the load.
Finally, 10 mm of material is applied to external stairs.
Vertical surfaces such as risers, skirting boards and walls are always laid in 6 mm.
The larger the grain size of the gravel, the higher the installation height of the floor covering. This means that more gravel and additional binder is required per m². The price increases accordingly.

, gravel coatings should be fitted with a pore seal for reasons of hygiene. It prevents leaked, sticky liquids from penetrating the stone carpet. While liquids that have penetrated an open floor are difficult to remove, the pore seal enables

by wet mopping.
The Qubo® porosity seal becomes completely transparent during curing. Therefore, the pore seal does not affect the stone carpet colors.
Dogs, cats and co. feel much more comfortable on the textured surface than on smooth floor coverings such as tiles or laminate, as they do not slip on stone carpets. However, it is advisable to cover the floor with a pore seal to ensure an easily wipeable surface.

Qubo®Tec and the Qubo® stone carpet made of marble gravel are available in the natural stone carpet colors of the respective gravel. Accordingly, the selection of stone carpet colors is smaller here than for Qubo® quartz gravel.
All gravels are coated with the binder used after laying. Therefore, floor cleaning does not affect the stone carpet colors.
stairs
can be easily renovated both indoors and outdoors. Coating your old staircase with stone carpet gives you a new design without having to invest in a new staircase. Renovation is carried out without any chiselling or demolition work. Staircase renovation significantly reduces or even completely eliminates noise. Of course, stone carpeting is also ideal for new staircases and entrance areas.
A staircase coated with stone carpet already has a slip resistance class of R10 after installation.
The slip resistance class can be increased to R11 or R12 using special sealants.
Depending on the type of staircase, renovations are possible within 3-5 days.

A professionally laid floor can practically only be destroyed by chemical stress or under the influence of enormous mechanical forces. It can therefore be assumed that a well-maintained floor will last for several decades.
A separating layer can be worked into the floor coating during installation. This additional step during installation makes it very easy and effortless to remove the gravel flooring.
